Joanna Allen is an English sculptor working primarily in bronze, marble, clay, and plaster. Her training was both academic and atelier, guided by many influential and international figurative sculptors.
Joanna began drawing and working with clay consistently in 2008, before attending workshops in Wales under the tutelage of Welsh sculptor, Simon Cooley. During this time, Joanna worked instinctively with life models and focused primarily on developing the deep connection between the self and the material; something which has been an integral part of her style ever since.
